Even before driving the car. Take a good and deep look around the car. Colors may look different in catalogues, check to see if the color matches what you like. Look at the dimensions of the car. Do you think you can handle its size? Check the cargo size, will it fit your stuff? How about a place for the baby's child seat?
Now, sit on the driver's seat. Did you get in and out of the car easily? Adjust the seat accordingly. Are you comfortable? Can you see the gauges? How is your visibility? Is there any blind spot? These are the first things to inspect even before you take the car into the road.
While driving the car
Start with your experience while driving the vehicle. How do the brakes feel? How is the acceleration? Do you feel like the car needs more power? How is the steering? Did you have a difficult time turning the wheel? After this, notice your experience inside the car. Was the engine too noisy? Can you hear noise from the outside? Are the tires producing too much sound? How is the feel of your ride? Was it smooth or bumpy? Was the suspension soft?
You should try and experience the car with all of your senses. You may want to try out the accessories. See if your phone works properly with the entertainment system. Check out the navigation system as well. Are you happy with the different features?
After the drive
The sales agent may want to start negotiations for your purchase after the test drive. It is ok to ask for another day if you have not decided yet. Make sure you are happy with your car and choice before deciding to purchase the car. I recommend test driving another car to help you compare as well.
